Delete your Saura data
Saura has no account. Your data is on your iPhone, so you delete it in the app.
Delete one thing
- A check-in photo: open it in Progress → Delete Photo.
- A day of conversation: Journal → the day → Delete Day.
- All conversations: Settings → Your data → Delete the journal (photos stay).
- A product: Settings → About me → My shelf → the product's delete button.
- A dermatologist note or one instruction: Settings → About me → From my dermatologist → the note → Delete this note, or an instruction → Delete this instruction. Deleting a note removes its original file and the instructions Saura took from it. Chat lines that mentioned it stay in your Journal until you delete them.
- Your email: Settings → About me → You → Delete email.
- Feedback waiting to be sent: Settings → Feedback → Send feedback → the message under Waiting to send → the delete button.
- Feedback you already sent: Settings → Feedback → Send feedback → Delete sent feedback. This deletes everything this phone sent from Saura's server. It works only from the phone that sent it (it is matched by the phone's anonymous device key); if you changed phones or reinstalled Saura, email us (below) and tell us roughly when you sent it and, if you gave one, the reply email.
Delete everything
Settings → Your data → Forget everything. This removes your photos, journal, chat and About me (shelf, dermatologist notes, email) and your privacy answers from this phone. Sample data labelled Demo stays. By voice, say "forget everything", then "yes, forget" within 10 seconds.
Deleting the Saura app also deletes everything it stored on the phone.
Stop sending data
- Settings → Privacy → turn off Use OpenAI for photos and replies.
- Settings → Privacy → turn off Let OpenAI read my dermatologist notes.
What Saura can't delete from the phone
- OpenAI may keep what was already sent for up to 30 days to check for abuse, or longer if the law requires.
- Sent feedback is on Saura's server until you delete it (above) or 365 days pass. Forget everything deletes feedback that is still waiting on the phone, not what was sent.
- Saura's proxy keeps no content other than feedback you sent. Its per-device usage record (a hashed key and counters) deletes itself after 2 days without use.
- Your own backups: nothing to delete. Everything Saura stores (photos, videos, check-in records, journal, chat, About me) is excluded from iCloud Backup and computer backups. Only small app settings, such as your language and permission answers, may be in your own device backup.
Ask us
Email privacy@saura.app with the subject "Delete my data". Because we keep no copy of your content, we will explain what we hold (normally nothing that identifies you) and delete anything we can find. We answer within one month (GDPR) and within 45 days (Washington), or sooner where the law requires.
